Alleged Marlboro Burglar Charged Again on Multiple Jewelry Theft Charges
Michael Thoma, 23, was arrested in September in connection with five Marlboro burglaries. Police filed additional charges this week.
Marlboro police charged Michael Thomas, 23 of New Brunswick this week in connection with multiple burglaries committed between August and September of 2012.
In August, Thoma allegedly gained entry to two homes in the township through an unlocked back door. County reports do not indicate what, if anything was stolen at that time.
In September, Thoma allegedly entered two Marlboro Township homes, stealing a combined $35,000 worth of jewelry.
Thoma was arrested at the end of September by police after allegedly burglarizing five homes in Marlboro and allegedly stealing $17,000 worth of jewelry from a Manalapan home.
According to he the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, Thoma was also charged with numerous burglary and thefts stemming out of Howell last year.
Thoma is being held in the Monmouth County Jail on $210,000 bail with no ten percent option. There are 27 charges filed against him, stemming from Howell, Marlboro and Manalapan.

His bail should be higher and he should be locked up for twenty years.

So sad.... you know the problem is we don't keep them locked up long enough the first time.My sister is a heroin addict.. they bailed her out the first time (her druggie bf) the second time she did7mos.... in Ocean county... I am hoping now that she is home she will continue to do well.. Maybe if they helped them by keeping them locked up, and gave the proper counseling needed... they wouldn't re-offend.
