Colts Neck Schools Receive Less than One Million in State Aid
The district is receiving the same aid from the state as it did in 2012.
Colts Neck schools are receiving $978,968 for the 2013-14 school year, according to recent state aid numbers released from Trenton on March 1.
The aid is a zero percent increase from the 2012-13 aid. Superintendent Dr. Fred Oberkehr said that's exactly what the district planned for.
"We planned for state aid to remain flat, we were very pleased for funding levels to remain steady," he said.
The district is receiving $171,526 in transportation aid and $703,608 million in special education aid.
"We were quite nervous about the fact that they might reduce state aid spending due to the budget gap," Oberkehr said. "Thankfully, planning for the state aid to remain flat was the right thing to do."
