UPDATE: More Local School Closings Announced
Most closures for Monday and Tuesday so far
The Freehold Regional High School District announced on its website Saturday afternoon that schools will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30.
The local elementary school districts will be making decisions about school closures on an individual basis. Freehold Township Schools announced on their website that they will be closed on Monday and Tuesday as well. Marlboro schools made a similar announcement on Saturday night as did the Freehold Borough School District.
On Sunday morning the Howell Public Schools also announced they will close on Monday and Tuesday as well. Also on Sunday the Colts Neck School District announced their closure for Monday and Tuesday.
Several area private schools are also closing on Monday and Tuesday including St. Veronica's in Howell.

This should be a no brainer for the school districts. The k-8 districts should also close as well.

Due to the impending impact of Hurricane Sandy and the present state of emergency, all Freehold Township School District schools and offices will be closed on Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30.

As you are well aware, there is a possibility of severe inclement weather for Monday and Tuesday. The decision to close schools will be made by 6 PM on Sunday. While the governor has declared a state of emergency as of Saturday morning, there has not been a directive from the county executive superintendent regarding the closing of schools at this time.
