UPDATE: Heavy Storm Causes Rt. 9 Power Outage in Marlboro

Some residents were without power until 9 a.m. Thursday morning.

 

Update: As of 9:00 a.m. Thursday, JCP&L is reporting there are no longer power outages in Marlboro.

Update: As of Thursday 8:15 a.m., over 100 customers are impacted by power outages in Marlboro.

Update: As of 11:29 p.m., JCP&L is reporting less than 5 customers impacted by the power outage on Wednesday night.

 

Marlboro Township Police reported power outages along the Rt. 9 corridor due to heavy thunderstorms sweeping through Monmouth County.

Police are reporting the power is back along Rt. 9, but side streets along the corridor are still experiencing power outages.

JCP&L's outage map is reflecting at least 340 customers in the area without power as of 9 p.m. after the storm.

Where is there a heavy storm? Everything was calm when the power went out.
There was heavy rain hours ago but no lightning or major wind.

Robert---it was quick, very quick, but it happened. The power may have gone out afterward and impacted the Marlboro substations in a weird way.

That is exactly what happened Robert. Totally calm and then the power went out. Annoying. Since i moved here a year ago the power has gone out 4 times, thats including the week it was out during Irene. At my old hpuse, years would go by and nothing ...
