Marlboro Offering Non-Potable Water at Vanderburg Complex

Residents with well-water are urged to fill a bathtub now.

Marlboro Township is urging residents to stock up on water now, before the storm hits its height.

While many grocery stores may be out of stock, some residents are telling Patch on its Facebook page that liquor stores in the area may have supplies.

"While back-up systems are in place to ensure that water services remain uninterrupted during the storm, the Red Cross advises that all residents take extra precaution and have bottled water available," Mayor Jon Hornik told residents in an email notifcation. "For those residents with well-water, it is strongly suggested that you fill a bathtub with water."

The township will have a water truck for non-drinkable water at the Vanderburg Road Soccer Complex, which will be for sanitary purposes only. Residents must bring their own containers to transport water.

The station will be available only after the worst of the storm has passed, residents are encouraged to stay off the road during high winds and rain.

I also live in Colts Neck you may have silt getting into your well we had a broken well cap and had the same problem...you will have to call a well company. Also when we have storms I keep a large barrel outside to collect rain water so we can flush toilets. Good luck.

I live in CN off of Clover Hill Rd and am seeing the same problem -- black water. No prior problems with my well, so it's very concerning.

I suggest calling your well company and reporting to the township. Keeping a rain bucket outside is a great idea for flushing.

Yes, it is silt. Watch putting that water into your toilets if it has too much dirt etc. in it. I live on Hillsdale, have for 28 years, and always expect the power to go out...it always has in storms and always will :-(.

@Anastasia--not sure, I'm not seeing one on the Colts Neck Township website. Can any other CN residents help out here? I know a lot of people have had experience with this
