Marlboro Teens Recognized for Creating Awareness Billboards

The Marlboro Alliance and the Marlboro Town Council recognized two teens who won poster contests, winning them spots on a Route 79 billboard.
Ben Friedberg and Rachel Portnoy of Marlboro Township were each honored with certificates from Mayor Jon Hornik, rewarding them for their work raising awareness of the dangers of drugs and alcohol and bullying in the high schools.
Portnoy created an anti-drunk driving billboard, touting the phrase "Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving."
Friedberg raised awareness of bullying with a photo of a saddened teenager and the words "Stop Bullying Now, You Can Make a Difference."

I would rather see their billboards rather than the numerous monstrosities either built or about to be built along the Route 9 corridor in Marlboro. Thank you Town Fathers for turning the commercial section of our town into a re-creation of the "South of the Border" signs along 95 in the Carolinas.
