Marlboro police arrested Michael Thoma, 22 of New Brunswick on Wednesday in connection to five burglaries of Marlboro homes in recent months.

Thoma is charged with the burglary of homes on Bernadette Road, Stevenson Drive, Tamarack Court, Rachael Drive and Steeplechase Drive in Marlboro Township.

According to a county arrest report, Thoma allegedly stole thousands of dollars with of jewelry, cash and electronics. Records also indicate Thoma allegedly worked with a driver, named in the report as Evan Klemuk.

The Marlboro Police Department announced in a news release early this week that it was questioning suspects in connection to several burglaries in town, but the department has not yet commented as to whether or not Thoma is one of those suspects.

According to county jail records, Thoma was arrested and convicted in 2009, at age 19, for unlawful possession of a handgun and resisting arrest in Monmouth County. Thoma was sentenced to five years in prison, and was paroled after one year.

Police investigation uncovered Thoma generally entered through rear windows or doors of homes which is consistant with recent burglary reports within the township.
