New Marlboro BOE Members Sworn In

The Board of Education's reorganization meeting also instituted changes for the 2012-13 school year.

The Marlboro Board of Education welcomes new members Jian Kao and John Dwyer Tuesday night, and welcomed back veteran board member BonnieSue Rosenwald.

Kao and Dwyer replace Dr. Raymond Eng and Paula Fasciano. Eng served on the Board of Education for over 15 years, and Fasciano served one three-year term.

"Ray is that solid stone," said Board President Michael Lilonsky. "Many board members will tell you they have looked to Ray for guidance."

Eng said of his five terms on the board, "I will forever be grateful for the trust the people of Marlboro have placed in me."

Both Eng and Fasciano were presented with declarations of service from the board, in which Fasciano was thanked for her contributions to the special education program in Marlboro and her service on several committees and as a liason throughout the township.

Fasciano lost this past election by 38 votes.

"It is with regret, and not by my choice, that I am leaving the Board of Education," Fasciano said.

The board also unanimously elected Lilonsky as its Board President for another term. Victoria Dean was elected Board Vice President, Cynthia Green abstained from the vote and BonnieSue Rosenwald requested to be marked as "present with no action taken."

District Business Administrator Cindy Barr-Rague will be the Board Secretary.

The board also re-authorized the district purchasing agent, Barr-Rague, awarded bids to various vendors, as well as formalized its meeting schedule for the remainder of the school year and its meeting format for the 2012-13 school year.

Salaries of full-time teaching staff and administration in the district were approved (see attached list within the meeting agenda).

Mrs. Green abstains and Mrs. Rosenwald requests to be marked present with no action taken. Really? This one is a simple yes or no vote. Unless, of course, both of them wanted those positions. Then just vote no. You don't have to justify your vote. You all will still have to play nice in the sandbox.
