Melissa Destafano, 20 of Monroe and Gary Raffa, 19 of Manalapan were indicted this week on charges of conspiracy to commit theft and burglary, for break-ins between April and July, 2011.

Manalapan Police arrested Raffa in September 2011 after a three-month investigation into a string of burglaries in Manalapan and Marlboro. Raffa and Destafano were indicted Thursday on counts of conspiracy to commit burglary and overt acts of burglary and theft.

According to the indictment issued by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Raffa and Destafano would allegedly knock on front doors and look in front windows to see if anyone was home, then unlawfully enter the residents while one acted as a lookout, then take jewelry and exit.

According to a News Transcript article, Raffa was also arrested on warrants out of Elizabeth for being in the possession of stolen property on May 26, 2011.
