Rising Burglary Numbers Have Marlboro Residents On Edge

Marlboro Police statistics show 87 burglaries of cars, homes and businesses since the beginning of 2012.

Police Captain Steve Mennona said this year's numbers are "on track" with previous years.

The year 2010 in Marlboro brought 200 burglaries of residences, commercial properties, vehicles and "non-residences" (ie: sheds, detached garages) were reported, and there were 10 reports of attempted burglaries. 54 of those burglaries were of homes in town.

Despite Resident Request, Marlboro Will Not Use Reverse 9-1-1 for Burglary Awareness

While Marlboro Township police and officials recognize the situation in Marlboro, police say home and vehicle theft by the numbers is not any worse than it has been in years before, and the situation does not warrant creating widespread panic through phone calls to all residents.

Chris Smith Supporter Endorses 'Aspirin Between Your Knees' After Reproductive Rights Query

A supporter of U.S. Rep. Christopher H. Smith staffing a Republican political table at a public festival told a woman asking about the 16-term congressman’s stance on reproductive rights to keep "an aspirin between your knees,’’ according to a video taken at the event.

The incident happened in Hamilton on Sept. 9. during the town’s SeptemberFest celebration, according to activist and Rutgers student Eva Grote.

Seven Marlboro Streets Dedicated to Honor Victims of September 11

Marlboro Township honored seven of its former residents on Saturday, who were victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, with honorary street dedication ceremonies.

Family and friends gathered at seven different streets in Marlboro to remember their loved ones and watch as permanent township fixtures were unveiled all over town.
