The Marlboro Township Recreation Center is located off Wyncrest Road, next to the town's municipal buildings. With events for residents of all ages, the gym provides adult fitness classes, sports events including golf clinics and basketball leagues. Special events include its annual father-daughter and mother-son dances, and township seniors can choose from programs offered through its "Best of Time" publication.

Outdoors, the recreation center has basketball courts, tennis courts, and a September 11th memorial. The recreation center accepts only checks or money orders for its events and programs.

Although this event is for a worthy charitable cause, it shows once again how Marlboro loves its dogs but hates its cats. The dog park was built by supposed private funding (and in doing so, took away the outdoor area where kids used to play football). However, it is out tax dollars that pay to maintain this dog park. Our tax dollars also pay to have outdoor cats trapped by the town's animal control officer who brings them to a "shelter" to be killed. (Isn't the definition of "shelter" to protect??) WHY CAN'T MARLBORO USE OUR TAX DOLLARS TO INITIATE A TNR (trap-neuter-return) PROGRAM for outdoor cats? TNR is the ONLY proven method of reducing their population. Trapping and killing a few cats does not and will not decrease their population. The only thing that does is keep the animal control officer working, trapping, and killing. His job would be put to better use doing TNR instead. It's way past time for Marlboro to catch up to the 21st century.
