Update, 1:54 p.m.:
Marlboro Mayor Jon Hornik issued the following letter about storm response in the township:

The National Weather Service Winter Storm Warning for our area predicts 4 to 8 inches of snow. Marlboro Department of Public Works (DPW) salted and sanded in preparation for the storm and has begun to clear the roadways.
Due to the inclement weather, please be advised that effective 1:00 pm today, the Township will be maintaining limited staffing in administrative offices. The Tax Collection Department has cancelled their extended hours scheduled for this evening. The Public Works and Public Safety Departments will, of course, remain fully staffed through the duration of the storm.

Although DPW has been plowing for the last several hours, the snow is expected to continue mid-afternoon and the storm warning through 5:00pm. We urge you to stay off the roadways. As per Township ordinance, please remove all vehicles from the street so that the plows can properly and safely clear the snow from the roadways. In addition, please do not put snow from your driveways or cars into the roadways, especially after your street has been plowed. This creates hazardous conditions as the roadways melt and re-freeze.

If you have not done so already, please visit our “Communications for Residents” section on the Township Website marlboro-nj.gov/resident-communications to ensure that your home and cell phones are registered for Police reverse 9-1-1 calls and text message updates. You can also find us on Facebook www.facebook.com/marlborotownship.nj and Twitter @MarlboroTwp as well as my Facebook page.

The Marlboro Police Department is available 24 hours a day at (732) 536-0100. For emergencies, please call 9-1-1. We will continue to update the public through email, reverse 9-1-1 and social media, as necessary. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance. Please stay safe.
