CVS Construction on Rt. 79 Well Underway

The drug store structure has been built.

The construction site on Lloyd Road and Rt. 79 looks like it will be a full-blown CVS by the end of the summer.

The site, which has been under construction since February, is approved for for commercial use and will house the CVS, a bank and a retail store that is yet to be determined.

Dean Staknys, Marlboro's Assistant Township Engineer . Staknys could not be reached for comment for an updated timeline.

The property is on the Aberdeen, Morganville border. Marlboro Township currently has a CVS on and on Ryan Road and Rt. 79 in Marlboro. Matawan has a CVS on and .

Just what the area needs... another CVS and a bank. Signs, signs, everywhere the signs, (bleepin') up the scenery, breakin' my mind. Do this, don't do that, can't you read the signs?

Well, no matter your opinion on the signage, I don't see any sidewalks anywhere near this new CVS. And fyi -- offroad, separate, bicycle-pedestrian paths can increase property values by up to $8,800.

Well Deb, it's obvious that the only ones with money are banks, yet we had to give them money during the bailouts!
About the construction on 79, if you as a private landowner want to take out some trees, you need a permit per tree. Yet corporations are allowed to level a small forest and not leave a single sapling. People wonder why there are more and more incidents of flooding. If you take away the trees and underbrush, there's nothing left to hold the soil and prevent erosion. It makes me sick every time I see another tract of land that has been "raped".

I can not believe another CVS is being built...there is one 2 miles away what the hell do we need another one for? And when it goes out of business it will become another huge eyesore!

Maybe they'll but another dry cleaner, tanning salon, nail salon, chinese resturant. there too. It Morganville, but who cares about the extra traffic. Not Aberdeen, they fight nothing.

Very well said.....it's true - I get sick with every tract that is destroyed. I thought
there wasn't any money to support these shops and banks? somebody is holding the bag somewhere!!!

Maggie...that's exactly what my hubby & I call it..."raping the land". I wish businesses/homeowners would look to occupy existing buildings instead of constructing new,new, new. Who needs it??!!

That would be a Five Man Electrical Band reference from their song COVERED BY Tesla. I for one am happy about the new construction as currently my nearest CVS is across what may be the worst un-signaled intersection in the county, at Mill Rd / Route 34 (try making a left).

I am not happy about the raping of the land either. There is less and less areas fordeer and other wildlife. Then people complain that the animals are doing damage their property! In all honesty I would love to see a Christmas Tree Store there if we have to have anything other than woods!
