Four JG's Vineyard Wins NJ Wine Awards

The Colts Neck winery took three bronze awards for its 2008 Cabernet Franc, 2010 and 2007 Chambourcin wines.

Four JG's Vineyard of Colts Neck took home three bronze medal awards this year in the NJ Wine Competition.

The vineyard's 2008 Cabernet Franc, 2010 and 2007 Chambourcin wines took third in the competition, run annually by the Rutgers University Cooperative Extension under the supervision of Rutgers University wine expert, Dr. Gary Pavlis.

“The overall quality of the wines was exceptional and I believe reflected both the quality obtained in the 2010 vintage, which was well represented in this competition, and the maturation and understanding by the winegrowers of which grape varieties are suited to the different terroirs of the state,” said Pavlis. ”In addition, New Jersey wineries are excelling at Bordeaux blends with many of the top scoring wines reflecting this winemaking style.”
