Free Tickets, Discount Approved As Part of Live Nation Settlement

A lawsuit brought started by a Freehold Township resident ends with 3 free lawn tickets, $5 discount for potentially hundreds of thousands of concertgoers.

A U.S. District Court judge has approved a settlement in a class action lawsuit in which PNC Bank Arts Center music patrons who purchased tickets for shows between June 23, 2003 and June 15, 2011 will receive three free lawn tickets to select events and a $5 discount towards online ticket purchases, according to reports.

More than 363,000 concertgoers are eligible for the awards, and the settlement could cost the concert promoter tens of millions of dollars in revenue, NJ.com reports.

The lawsuit was first brought forward by Michael Katz of Freehold Township, who sued Live Nation five years ago over the mandatory $6 "parking fee" attached to every ticket. Read more at APP.com
