When and how did your business get started?

We started as an online shop www.chelseayarns.com in early 2012. Chelsea Yarns wanted to create an online yarn store that provided excellent customer service like a LYS (local yarn shop) would. The word spread so fast we outgrew our space and needed to expand, so we opened our doors in Colts Neck on March 1st. 2013. We have been extremely happy ever since that day. We offer classes, open knitting, help with projects and most of all a friendly environment where people of all ages come to sit and knit or crochet. We call it therapy! We have a large customer base online as well as in our shop! We love that we can help bring back a hobby that has been gone for years! Chelsea Yarns is not just for granny's! Our shop is often referred to as a candy shop for knitters! Come see for yourself! We promise not to disappoint!

Why did you choose the town you did to open your business?

We choose Colts Neck because it was a quaint small town with other small businesses like us! There are no big box shops that we would have to compete with. Everyone here supports local businesses as well as each other. It's a small community. We often share each others sales and ads to help support each other.

What is your business best known for?

Knitting yarn!

We were voted one of the Best of the Best in the APP Best of the Best
competition!
