POLL: Does Costco Need More Fuel Pumps?

The wholesale warehouse was approved by the Planning Board to add more pumps to its Morganville location.

Costco was approved last week to add more fuel pumps to its Morganville location on Rt. 9, a step to improve traffic flow from the highway and into the wholesale warehouse parking lot.

The board and Costco representatives agreed that the current traffic pattern in the parking lot and the volume of cars is pushing customers out into a line in the Rt. 9 bus lane.

Although there is another entrance to from Texas Road, out-of-town shoppers may not be savvy to the shortcut, see the line into the parking lot, and decide to shop elsewhere.

“Quite honestly, if I can’t get off of Rt. 9, I’m not going to Costco,” Josh Pollak, Planning Board member said.
