Black Labrador Refugee Looking for a Forever Home

A Colts Neck Dentist is trying to help a new friend find a family.

Rocky, like so many, has become a Hurricane Sandy refugee.

Drs. Dawn and Alex Rockwell found the black labrador retriever on their property in Colts Neck days after the storm, but have yet to find Rocky's owners. Rocky had no smartchip, no collar and no identification on file.

In a blog post on Patch, the Rockwells said they have notified the Colts Neck Police and local shelters were notified, and now Rocky is staying at a local vet until the young lab can be placed with a new family.

"After living with us for 5 days we discovered that he is loving, playful, and smart," the Rockwell's said in their post. "Rocky loves to run and play so a home with large yard is ideal."

A local vet has given Rocky all of his shots. The lab is 73 lbs and between 2 and 4- years-old. He is house-broken, listens to commands and gets along with other dogs.
