10. Marlboro Hires Former Cop as School Security Supervisor. One measure of Marlboro's longterm school security plan is in place after the Board of Education voted to hire Robert Delaune, a former Tinton Falls police officer, as its new school security supervisor.

Delaune's resume, requested through the Open Public Records Act by a Patch reader, indicates Delaune was a military police drill sergeant until 2003, and worked as a school resource officer in Tinton Falls until 2012.

9. . Marlboro Police arrested an Old Bridge woman again last week, for allegedly cashing stolen checks. Jessica Zaccardi, 24 was arrested in 2011 for allegedly shoplifting and supplying police with a false identity.

8. New Superintendent Chosen in Marlboro. The Board of Education has chosen its new superintendent, Dr. Eric Hibbs of the Mount Holly school district.

Board President Michael Lilonsky announced on Thursday that the search is over, after months of interviews following the retirement announcement of 15-year superintendent Dr. David Abbott.

7. Homemade Fireworks Cause Bomb Scare in Marlboro. Homemade fireworks in Marlboro prompted a call to the bomb squad, according to News 12.

A homemade device found at the Water Treatment Plant on Harbor Road early Saturday morning caused police to close the road for several hours, as county authorities investigated.

6. "Operation Swill" Targets Marlboro TGI Fridays. TGI Fridays in Marlboro Township is among 29 bars and restaurants throughout New Jersey targeted by state officials during a year-long investigation into establishments that may have served cheap booze while charging premium prices, according to the state Attorney General's Office.

5. Marlboro Man Charged with Tax Evasion in Food Distribution Company. The owner of a wholesale food distributer in New Jersey is facing charges of tax evasion for failing to report full income since 2006.

John Annetta, 61 of Marlboro pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion regarding his Cartaret based distributor White Rose Food, while a senior vice-president.

4. Police: Manalapan Guitar Teacher Spanked Student for Sexual Gratification. A Musician’s Workshop guitar teacher has been charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child after investigators discovered he was spanking a music student for his own sexual gratification, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced Friday. The alleged assault of the student, who was under 13, took place some time in the past few months.

3. Pastor Steps Down from St. Mary's in Colts Neck. Amid what has become a public scandal, Fr. Tom Triggs of St. Mary's Parish in Colts Neck has stepped down from his position, joined by two youth ministers.

The Star Ledger reported on Sunday that Triggs announced his resignation during  Saturday evening mass, following public outcry regarding Rev. Michael Fugee who had been working in the church youth ministry despite a court order to refrain from working with minors.

2. Ethics Charges Filed Against Marlboro Board of Ed Vice President. The NJ School Ethics Commission has officially acknowledged the receipt of ethic charges filed against Board Vice President Victoria Dean, according to complaint documents.

The complaint was submitted by Marlboro resident and Planning Board member Josh Pollak who claims Dean donated an iPad at a February Knights of Columbus fundraiser which was allegedly labeled "Marlboro Republican Club, Victoria Dean, Vice President of Marlboro School Board."

1. Friends of Marlboro Gunshot Victim Spark Fundraising Efforts. A Marlboro homeowner was shot in the head and robbed during a home invasion on March 19, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. 

The victim was Michael Rosenberg, 32, of Girard Street. The incident occurred at 9:45 p.m. in Rosenberg's home, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Patch learned of the incident this week through a fundraising effort for Rosenberg's bills.
