10. .  Almost as quickly as it was announced, Marlboro Night has been canceled. The Marlboro Recreation Department announced last week that the new addition to Marlboro's community celebration would be canceled, due to a lack of funds. Marlboro Night was meant to lead in to Sept. 9, Marlboro Day.  is still on, and the township is expecting just as big of a turn out as last year.

9. . In a , we highlighted a $19 million home for sale on Cross Road in Colts Neck, that today is still on the market, according to its Weichert listing. The home has six bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms. The property is a 46-acre gated estate with horse stables and an equestrian ring, and a heated pool and cabana. There is also a two bedroom apartment on the property.

8. . In what the U.S. Attorney General is calling the most successful child pornography bust in American history, local residents Jason Faccibene of Morganville, Layne Bracht of Matawan and Jonathan Burke of Keyport were among 30 New Jersey residents convicted over almost a decade of investigation. According to the U.S. Attorney General's news release, the "hardcore child pornography" website was run by a Ukrainian citizen, Maksym Shynkarenko. The site included images of children being sexually assaulted and abused.

7. . Heavy thunderstorms on the morning of June 25 caused lightning, high winds and rapid flooding in Marlboro. The storms knocked out at least one traffic light in the township, on Lloyd Road and Rt. 79, and briefly knocked out police communications.

6. ? After concerns expressed by a parent at a recent Board of Education meeting, Marlboro's Asher Holmes Elementary School . The pledge, created ten years ago by a fourth-grade teacher, was recited every Monday morning in addition to the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America.

5. . Nicholas Demo, 20, of Morganville was arrested on June 1 on several charges, after police responded to a suspected domestic violence call. Demo was charged with kidnapping his father through confinement, and allegedly threatening to kill his father with a club, as well as allegedly kicking his father enough to leave bruising. Patrolmen David Ruditsky and Joseph Meglio responded to the scene, where Demo allegedly pushed and threatened both officers while police attempted to separate Demo and his father. Demo is charged with kidnapping, threatening violence, three counts of aggravated assault, criminal mischief, the unlawful possession of a weapon, purposely resisting arrest and purposely causing bodily injury.

4. . Marlboro officials and independent developers broke ground on what will become the township's new shopping center, home to Walgreens and and open to other retailers. Mayor Jon Hornik welcomed the new businesses to the community and highlighted the benefits they will bring to not only Marlboro, but to the surrounding municipalities.

3. . The body of a Morganville man reported missing by his family, was retrieved off Keyport on June 10 after being discovered by a jet skier, according to Keyport Police Chief George Casaletto said. The discovery ended an extensive search for the man, , 57, of Ironwood Lane in Morganville. Mazzilli was last seen on June 8, when he took a small dingy out to his 33-foot Sea Ray moored at the Keyport Yacht Club, according to Casaletto. He had told his wife, Doreen, he would spend the night on the boat.

2. . The  stepped forward on June 1 with information regarding what they called a "suspicious incident" which occurred May 30 after school. A "school aged child" reported he was stopped by two people while walking to the school bus stop on Windfall Lane, off of Wyncrest Road, police were called by his parents. No other incidents have been reported.

1. . Andrew Hegt, 35, of Morganville, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Thursday, June 14. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Andrew had grown up in Marlboro before moving to Freehold and then to Morganville 5 years ago. He was a partner at the law firm of LaRocca, Hornik, Rosen, Greenberg, & Blaha PC, Freehold, NJ.
