Former Delicious Orchards Baker Dies at Age 80

Elizabeth Sitar worked for Delicious Orchards as a baker for over sixteen years until retiring.

Elizabeth Ann Sitar, 80, of Clayton, Delaware formerly of Freehold passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013.

Elizabeth was born the daughter of Stephen and Mary Sisko, and was raised in Woodbridge, and had lived in Freehold before moving to Clayton, DE in 2004. She worked for Delicious Orchards as a baker for over sixteen years until retiring. Elizabeth was a member of the Millstone Twp. Hospital Auxiliary.

She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court 737. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband of fifty-five years, Stephen Sitar, Sr.; a son, Stephen Sitar, Jr.; a granddaughter, Lisa Sue Horrigan; a sister Mary Doros; two brothers-in-law, Michael Doros and George Haley.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan McLaughlin of Clayton, DE, Sharon Lezark and her husband, Zake of Jackson, and Betty Anne Simmons and her husband, George of Brick; a son, John Sitar of Manalapan and his former wife, Jennifer Mennona of Freehold; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Sitar and her companion, Jeff Slocum of Asbury Park; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters, Rose Haley of Smyrna, DE and Dorothy Lucina and her husband, Stephen of Middletown, DE; a brother, Stephen Sisko and his wife, Janet of Iselin; many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

A visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 9 a.m. for the procession to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold for her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment to follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Freehold.
