Obituary: Arthur J. "Artie" Larsen

Arthur J. "Artie" Larsen, 87, of Morganville, died on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Arthur J. “Artie” Larsen, 87, of Morganville, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Artie was born, raised and had lived in Brooklyn before moving to Oakland, N.J., and then settled in Morganville in 2012. He was a U..S Army Veteran serving in both World War II and Korea. Artie retired as a foreman in the gravure department for Sterling Regal Gravure and worked on numerous publications. Prior to that, he worked as an engraver at Intaglio. Artie was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Oakland.

Artie was predeceased by his wife, Theresa Larsen in 1994 and his grandson, Dustin Kersnowski in 2012. He is survived by his daughter, MaryAnn Anselmo and her husband, Joseph of Morganville.

Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 9 a.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck, NJ 07722. Interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
