Kevin M. Labayen, 26 of Marlboro, died Thursday, Jan. 23.

Kevin M. Labayen, 26 of Marlboro, died Thursday, Jan. 23, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge.

Born in Jersey City he was moved to Marlboro with his family where they've resided for the past 23 years. Kevin worked as a bartender for T.G.I. Friday's in Marlboro. He received his associate's degree in liberal arts from Brookdale Community College. Kevin was very athletic and full of energy; he enjoyed baseball, flag football and soccer and was a member of the Flyin' Labayens & The Isotopes. He was very social and easily made friends, if Kevin walked into a room and he didn't know you, you left as his friend. Kevin will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Surviving are Kevin's loving parents; Norman F. and Debbie G. (Manuel) Labayen; his beloved brothers Brendan and Kyle; his cherished paternal grandmother Leonor (Fernandez) Labayen; his devoted paternal uncles and aunts, Jose, Enrico, Susan, Dinah, Cynthia, Rebecca, Olive and Theresa; his dearest maternal uncles and aunts, Jerry, Ricky, Edgar, Marco, Dinah, Cynthia and Cecile; and his many, many loving cousins.

Visitation was held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home 3377 Route 9, Old Bridge, N.J. 08857 on Saturday, Jan. 25. Funeral prayer services were officiated by the Rev. John J. Werner of St. Ambrose R.C. Church, Old Bridge. Cremation services will be private.
