UPDATE: Car Towed From Route 18 Reignites in Auto Wrecker Yard

Route 18 is now open, after a car fire temporarily closed a portion of the road.

Update as of 5:24 p.m.: Marlboro Police reported the roadway is now open.

A car fire on Route 19 northbound has traffic backed up for miles as firemen work to extinguish the flames.

The fire, located betwen Route 537 in Colts Neck and Route 79 in Marlboro, had that portion of the road temporarily shut down as crews worked.

The car was towed by B&B Auto Wreckers and Towing in Morganville, but when the car was placed in the yard it caught fire again, according to Marlboro Police. The Robertsville Fire Department worked to extinguish the reignited flames.
