Colts Neck Creating Game Plan for Hurricane Sandy

The township is monitoring the storm and staying in contact with county and state officials.

Colts Neck Township is actively preparing for Hurricane Sandy, coordinating with the county Office of Emergency Management and communicating with residents through the township website.

Police Chief Kevin Sauter said police, fire and first aid have been coordinating with township officials and county authorities to monitor the storm and create a contingency plan.

"One tip I would give residents is to secure your Halloween decorations," Sauter said.

Colts Neck officials will make a decision to enact the Office of Emergency Management when the storm grows near, but opening comfort stations as the township did during Hurricane Irene is a potential part of the township plan.
