Drill Scheduled Wednesday at Naval Weapons Station Earle

Local law enforcement agencies are participating in the regularly scheduled drill at Colts Neck and Leonardo.

If you see increased security or police presence near Naval Weapons Station Earle Wednesday, be assured it is only a regularly scheduled security drill.

NWS Earle issued a press release Monday alerting the public. 

They said motorists may notice slower traffic on Route 34 in the vicinity of the Mainside in Colts Neck, or at the gates on Route 36 in Leonardo.

Some local law enforcement and emergency management agencies will participate in the drill.  

The point of the drill is to enhance the training and readiness of Navy Security Forces to respond to threats on location, said the release.
