UPDATE: Marlboro Family With Disabled Daughter Transported by Marlboro PD

The Marlboro PD will transport the family to Pennsylvania.

UPDATE: Around 12:45 p.m., Mayor Jon Hornik authorized the Marlboro PD to bring a van to transport the Cano family out of town, to a relative's home.

A Marlboro family is in desperate need of a way to get out of town.

The Cano family has a disabled daughter, who recently got out of the hospital after a bout with pneumonia. The family had to abandon their wheelchair accessible van in Perth Amboy after a failed attempt to find gas to fill it up.

Right now, the family has no power and an electric stove. Their generator is being used solely to power their daughter's nebulizer.

"They just can't stay there, it is too cold, she is going to get pneumonia again," said Cheri Golub, a family friend.

What the family needs is a place to stay, or a ride to family in Pennsylvania. They would like to stay together.

If anyone can provide shelter, heat and power temporarily, or can provide a wheelchair accessible van for the family to get to Pennsylvania.

You can contact the Cano's family cell phone at 732-547-1347 or Cheri Golub at 732-239-8374.
