Marlboro Man Charged with Allegedly Attempting to Break Into Mostel Court Home

Investigators say he was found in possession of pliers and a pry tool

A Marlboro man was charged with allegedly attempting to burglarize a Mostel Court home on Wednesday, according to police.

Police say William Blum, 45, of Rockwell Circle was found in possession of a pry tool and pliers after he allegedly attempted to enter a Marlboro home through a basement window.

The attempt triggered the house's alarm system, notifying police of the attempted crime.

Blum is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Sept. 25.

After a rash of burlgaries in Monmouth County, Marlboro Township Police shared safety tips with residents and suggested several different alarm systems for homes. The township also has a Direct Connect program, which allows residents to connect security alarms directly to the police department for an annual fee of $270.

I think it's disgusting to hear that the person who tries to break into your home could very well be a neighbor. It goes to prove that "keeping up appearances" is more than some people can deal with, sinking to such levels. Nothing more that a low life thief living amongst us.

The Guys' picture should be posted in the papers and on the Marlboro wensite so he can be ostracized . . .

Must be something wrong with this guy. 45 years old... not the owner of his home on 74 Rockwell. This story blows my mind!
