Marlboro Monitoring Potential Impact of Hurricane Sandy

The township will update residents through the email notification system during Frankenstorm

Marlboro Township is closely monitoring the upcoming hurricane through the state Office of Emergency Management and local authorities.

Officials will use the township Reverse 9-1-1 system if necessary, but primary notices will come from the email newsletters, which residents can sign up for on the township website.

Mayor Jon Hornik said he and other township officials have been in meetings with the Office Emergency Management, which has been put into action in Marlboro, and JCP&L.

"We will be as prepared as we possibly can be," Hornik said. "We are actively working on that plan right now."

Officials will be in contact throughout the weekend, Hornik said, and will finalize the game plan including whether or not the township is looking into opening comfort stations.
