Marlboro Travel Restrictions Begin at 5 p.m. on Monday

Marlboro is not yet experiencing the worst of the storm, but with almost 3,500 people without power and wind gusts of more than 70 mph, Mayor Jon Hornik is urging residents to stay home.

A travel restriction for all non-essential personnel is in effect as of 5 p.m. on Monday. Several roads are already closed, at least temporarily, due to downed wires and trees. As the wind picks up, police are reporting larger branches in the road. 

Marlboro Township is in a state of emergency, which means the local Office of Emergency Management and emergency officials have the authority to restrict driving, impose curfews and close township roads if necessary.
