$25k Reward for Information Leading to Michael Karwan's Safe Return

Karwan is still missing as of Thursday morning.

Michael Karwan, 19, has been missing since Tuesday night in Marlboro Township. The teenager is considered high-functioning on the autism spectrum, and is a student at Brookdale Community College.

The Asbury Park Press reported a $25,000 reward, and that Karwan was last seen in Freehold trying to check into a hotel on Tuesday night before he was turned away for not having identification.

A family friend said the teen likes comic books and movies, and may be drawn to those locations. Karwan is not believed to have a car or his cell phone.

Karwan left his parent's home in the area of School Road West voluntarily after an argument, however police say he usually comes back after cooling off. Police began the search at 11 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Thursday, police ended the active search but that would change if new information is received. Police believe Karwan is now outside the jurisdiction.

Karwan is described with light skin, brown eyes and black hair. He is a student at Brookdale Community College, last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and green sneakers. He is around 6 ft. tall and weighs around 220 lbs.

Any person coming in contact with Michael is asked to contact the Marlboro Township Police Department at (732) 536-0100 attention Det. John Bise.
