Poor Box Thief Previously Charged for Stealing Credit Cards

Robert Hanna, 43 of Colts Neck was charged in June after police found stolen credit cards and social security numbers.

For Robert Hanna, 43 of Colts Neck, being arrested for allegedly stealing money from church poor boxes was not the first brush with the law.

Hanna was arrested in June and charged with theft of lost property, after police allegedly found credit cards, a social security card and a wholesale membership card on Hanna which belonged to a Howell woman.

Hanna was released from Monmouth County Jail after posting a $25,000 bail with no ten percent option for the alleged credit card theft.

, which also included debit cards and bank checks belonging to numerous victims.

On two separate occasions in April and September, .

According to police, Hanna was arrested in April after security surveillance set up at the church was reviewed, and his arrest in September led to a confession to stealing from a Red Bank church.

Hanna is still being held in Monmouth County Jail on $1,000 bail for the alleged church theft, no ten percent option.
