Woman Drives Car Into Marlboro Jewelry Store

Reports say the 83-year-old woman suffered minor injuries.

An 83-year-old woman suffered minor injuries Thursday after drivingher car through the front doors of Sarafina Jewelers on northbound Route 520, according to a report by the Asbury Park Press.

According to the report, the woman was taken to CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township to check out minor injuries from her airbag deploying, said Marlboro Police Capt. Bart Lombardo.

Police told the Press that the car jumped the curb and entered the front of the store, leaving minor damage to the structure. The store was expected to reopen later in the day, employees said.
