Who Is This Man? Police Share Video of Man Accused of Armed Robbery

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday at the Shell Gas Station on Clark Street in Keyport, located near the baseball field and the Henry Hudson trail.

Detectives are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the suspect in an armed robbery seen in this video surveillance and photographs, announced Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni Tuesday.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Monday at the Shell gas station on Clark Street in Keyport. An unknown white male, standing approximately 5-feet 11-inches tall and wearing a dark-colored hooded Under Armour sweatshirt entered the convenience store at the Shell station demanding money, according to police.  

The suspect was brandishing a box-cutter knife during the attempted robbery and assaulted the clerk with the weapon. The suspect removed a black cash register before fleeing the scene towards Gerard Street headed to the Aberdeen/Matawan border, police said.

The attached surveillance video and photographs show the suspect as he entered the Shell gas station prior to committing the robbery.

Monmouth County Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of criminals and fugitives.  The amount of each reward is determined by a volunteer board of directors is made up of local citizens who value their community and want to help law enforcement solve crimes.
