Register for Alerts in Marlboro Before Hurricane Season

Register to receive emergency updates from the township.

Marlboro Township is looking to keep its residents informed as New Jersey heads into another hurricane season.

"During Sandy, with email notifications, reverse 911 calls, and through my Facebook page, residents received updates ranging from water service to the availability of charging stations," Mayor Jon Hornik said in an email to residents. "With disruptions to phone service and power, we were reminded of the necessity of having as many ways to communicate with our residents as possible."

Residents can register home and cell phone numbers as well as email addressed for the Swift 911 program, which townships officials use during emergency situations to communicate.

Log on to the Marlboro Township home page at www.marlboro-nj.gov. On the right, click the ‘Email Notices’ button and enter your email address.

You can register up to four phone numbers through the page, which may be helpful to out-of-town residents with elderly family members within the township.

The township website will soon include a Storm Preparedness section, which will include emergency updates and links to online resources.

Report any power outage to Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) at 1-888-544-4877 or by visiting its online outage report system. You can also follow outage reports in the area through JCP&L's interactive map.
