Thursday: Marlboro Town Council

The council will speak about acquiring Penska Farm for open space preservation.

The Marlboro Town Council is meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in Town Hall, and will discuss open space preservation.

The last council meeting ended in executive session, when the council held a first reading of the purchase of Penska Farm on Harbor Road for open space preservation. Tonight, the council will hold a second reading and public hearing.

The council will also discuss awarding a to Birdsall Services for the Tennent Road Treatment Plant.

Birdsall, an engineering and consulting firm, is currently being investigated by the state according to Long Branch-Eatontown Patch, and some townships which have done business with the company.

On Wednesday, May 3, state investigators executed a search warrant at the offices of Birdsall Services Group. The exact reason for the investigation is unknown.
