Thursday: Public Hearing on Wood-Recycling Facility Proposal

The hearing is tonight at 7 p.m. in Marlboro Town Hall.

Marlboro Township officials will answer questions tonight regarding the proposed wood-recycling facility for Tennent Road.

Atlantic Tree Realty first appeared for the Marlboro Township Environmental Commission and the Zoning Board, where officials raised questions about the environmental impact on Tennent Road in a residential area and close to the Marlboro Early Childhood Learning Center.

This month, Mayor Jon Hornik released several letters to area residents, alerting them of the proposal and public hearing.

"The proposed facility is anticipated to receive 200 tons of trees, brush, wood chips, and leaves per day, equivalent to 40 truck loads of material. The site is located within a residentially zoned neighborhood, is inconsistent with surrounding uses and is located close to MELC, our early childhood learning center that houses both our youngest school-aged children and special needs population."

Residents are encouraged to attend tonight at 7 p.m. in Town Hall to ask questions and voice concerns.
