Colts Neck Students Participate in State Mock Trial Competition

Students will participate in two days of mock trial sessions in a competition.

Colts Neck High School law and justice students are closer to the state bar than they thought. This week, students from the Law & Public Service Learning Center will compete in the New Jersey State Bar Foundation's Mock Trial Competition.

The competition, also known as the Vincent J. Apruzzese Mock Trial Competition, has students fill two days as prosecuting attorneys, defense attorneys, plaintiffs, defendants and witnesses.

This week's round will be held at the Monmouth County Courthouse in Freehold. If successful, students will advance to the state level competition.

Judges and attorneys volunteer their time each year to make the competition an exceptional educational experience for high school students, according to a school district news release.
