Report: Marlboro Mulls Full Day Kindergarten

The Marlboro school district is considering a full-day kindergarten program for the 2014-15 school year, according to a report in the News Transcript.

According to the report, the school board discussed the possibility at its Nov. 26 meeting, following a presentation supporting such a change. Most members said they favored the idea, especially in light of the rigorous requirements of the newly implemented Common Core State Standards.

Board President Michael Lilonsky said he would form a committee charged with exploring the extended kindergarten. The full board will discuss the matter in future workshop meetings, said the report.
