Kids, teens and adults alike planted trees along the grass near the Marlboro Police Station and at a new nursery near the hockey rink at the recreation complex.
Arbor Day began in 1872 in Nebraska, in an attempt to preserve forestry and celebrate trees. Marlboro has been actively participating with ceremonial tree planting around town for the last five years.
The first tree planted on Arbor Day in Marlboro can be seen directly outside Town Hall.
