Two officers died in the line of duty over the past year in New Jersey
The two New Jersey law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty over the past year were remembered Tuesday as courageous men who served their state proudly. Millville Police Patrolman Christopher Reeves, killed July 8, 2012 when his patrol car was rammed by a driver fleeing authorities, and New Jersey State Police Detective Sgt. James G. Hoopes, who died of a heart attack during training, were added to the list of the 467 New Jersey officers who have died in the line of duty since 1854. The annual memorial service, held at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, includes a ceremonial roll call of fallen officers and a 21 gun salute. Fugee broke a court agreement ordering him to stop working with kids, Bergen prosecutor says.
Former Wyckoff pastor Michael Fugee was arrested and charged Monday with multiple counts of contempt of a court order, after allegedly violating a 2007 agreement with prosecutors to discontinue work with children following accusations of sexual misconduct. The cleric has been living at St. Antoninus Parish on South Orange Avenue in Newark. He resigned his position at St. Mary's in Colts Neck in May. Fugee, 52, confessed in 2001 to two acts of sexual misconduct with a Wyckoff teenager, once during a visit to the teen’s home and again during an overnight church retreat to Virginia. The confession was later recanted, and a 2003 conviction was overturned on judicial error in 2007. Prosecutors opted not to retry Fugee, and instead reached an …

The Police Unity Tour is a a four-day bike ride that starts in New Jersey and ends in Washington DC at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, which honors officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
Nothing stopped the Marlboro Police Unity Tour from riding into Washington D.C. to honor their fallen brothers. This year, weather tried to hault the crew, but on Monday Marlboro Police and officers from hundreds of police departments in America rode into D.C. to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. The Police Unity Tour is a a four-day bike ride that starts in New Jersey and ends in Washington DC at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, which honors officers who have been killed in the line of duty. Over the years, the tour has raised over $15 million dollars, some of which supports families of fallen officers. Jessica Zaccardi, 24, was arrested in Marlboro in 2011 on shoplifting charges.
Marlboro Police arrested an Old Bridge woman again last week, for allegedly cashing stolen checks. Jassica Zaccardi, 24 was arrested in 2011 for allegedly shoplifting and supplying police with a false identity. Zaccardi and Wayne Hinlickey, 27 of Old Bridge were both charged with shoplifting after police discovered them at Lowes in Morganville with alleged stolen power drills and other tools in 2011. Marlboro Township Police said when patrol pulled up in 2011, Zaccardi and Hinlickey were allegedly standing next to the stolen items outside of Starbucks, which shares a parking lot with Lowes. Police arrested Zaccardi last week after she allegedly stole business checks and cashed one in the amount of $457.52. According to state records, …

The body of a man struck by a high-speed passenger train Friday morning may be of missing East Windsor teen Riley Branstrom, according to the Times of Trenton. Branstrom, 18, went missing on Monday when he was last seen near Hightstown High School at around 2:30 p.m. His phone was tracked to Monmouth Battlefield State Park in Freehold and his truck was located in the parking lot of Princeton Junction parking lot Thursday afternoon. According to the Times, police started searching the surrounding area of the Princeton Junction train station Friday morning and one of the police dogs located the body. A Musician’s Workshop guitar teacher has been charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child after investigators discovered he was spanking a music student for his own sexual gratification, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced Friday. The alleged assault of the student, who was under 13, took place some time in the past few months. Manalapan resident Frank Diliberto, Jr., 60, was arrested Thursday evening, police said. He is currently being held in Monmouth County Correctional Institute on $200,000 bail with no option to post 10 percent of the bond. Bail was set by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge David F. A Brooklyn man pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute oxycodone in federal court Wednesday.
A Brooklyn man pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Freda L. Wolfson in Trenton federal court to his involvement in a plot to burglarize the Union Hill-Supremo Pharmacy in Englishtown, U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman announced Wednesday. James Zarbailov, 22, was charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute oxycodone. The pharmacy, located within Marlboro Township, was burglarized shortly before 4 a.m. on June 17, 2012 by Zarbailov and fellow conspirators. According to court documents, they filled 17 garbage bags and two cardboard boxes with merchandise from the pharmacy, including approximately 1,988 dosage units of methylphenidate, 500 dosage units of hydromorphone, 300 dosage units of Opana…
