Marlboro Scout Saves Dad After Fall from Ladder
Dennis Stack IV was honored at last week's Town Council meeting for stabilizing his father after a fall from a ladder while cleaning up after Hurricane Irene.
Dennis Stack IV embodied the timeless Boy Scout motto, 'be prepared' when he successfully stabilized his father after a fall from a ladder in August. Stack, 14 years-old, and his father, Dennis Stack III, were cleaning up the mess left behind by Hurricane Irene when his father fell from a ladder. With scouting knowledge, Stack IV calmly stabilized his father and called emergency services, a move his father says is the "reason he is walking today." Dennis Stack III suffered a broken hip, four broken ribs and his back broken in three places, according to the News Transcript.
