Mother's Day is a time to reflect, appreciate and generally bow down to our mothers.
Today is the day we look back at why we are so thankful for the mothers in our lives. They fed us, changed us, burped us, clothed us, bathed us, disciplined us, hugged us, tolerated us, loved us. My mother, like so many out there, went above and beyond whenever possible. From soccer practice carpools to driving out of state for tournaments, to moving me in and out of college number one and then college number two, followed by two apartments on opposite ends of the state. Mother's Day is Sunday, May 13, and participants in our Reader's Choice survey of favorite places for Mother's Day brunch cast most of their votes for the Buttonwood Manor in Matawan, the Brass Rail Restaurant, also in Matawan, and the Battleground Country Club in Manalapan. Congratulations to all three and our thanks to all who voted. The poll was limited to restaurants that offer a regular Sunday brunch menu or a special Mother's Day brunch. This edition covered restaurants from Freehold, north through Woodbridge and was also be open for voting all week on the following Patch sites: Manalapan, Marlboro, Holmdel, Matawan-Aberdeen and Woodbridge.
