Police: Man Sexually Assaulted Child in Marlboro in 2001
Gerardo R. Acuna is also accused of sexual contact with a child in connection with a Millstone incident and has been placed on a detainer by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
A 44-year-old Millstone man is accused of sexually assaulting a child under his care.
Gerardo R. Acuna was arrested and charged on Thursday, March 21 in connection with an Aug. 31, 2012 incident in Millstone and a March 21, 2001 incident in Marlboro, according to court documents filed in both jurisdictions.
Acuna allegedly sexually penetrated a child he had a legal duty to care for during the 2001 incident in Marlboro. He faces a first-degree aggravated sexual assault charge and a third-degree child endangerment charge stemming from the case.

In the 2012 Millstone incident, Acuna allegedly had sexual contact with a child under his care. He has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual contact and third-degree child endangerment.
He was remanded to Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $350,000 bail with no option to post 10 percent of the bond.
