Marlboro Democrats Overwhelmingly Re-elected

The Marlboro local election is wrapped up and we have your results

The s is finally over, and the Democrat incumbents Jon Hornik, Frank LaRocca and Randi Marder have all been re-elected.

"Tonight's victory is about everyone in this room and everyone who has volunteered around Marlboro in the last four years," Hornik said. "Our opponents fought hard and they should be recognized for wanting to serve."

The incumbents ran against Republicans Craig Marshall, Chris Dean and Marianne Longobardi.

Longobardi and Marshall did not wish to comment on the results.

Dean said, "I hope the 'disease' stays within the town," referring to Hornik ever running for a higher seat than mayor.

As the results came in on a large projector at Democratic Headquarters, cheers erupted in the large crowd as the party took district after district in the township.

"It was everybody in this room and everybody in the township that allowed us to flourish," LaRocca said, adding that this election is an indication that the township agrees.

Marder also thanked Marlboro volunteers during her victory speech.

"Thank you, to everybody," she said. "Four years ago, I really didn't know much about the council position. I certainly know more now, and I enjoy it, and I couldn't do it without [LaRocca and Hornik]."

Official vote count results from the County Website have Hornik at 66.8 percent and Marshall at 33 percent.

The county also reports LaRocca at 31.2 percent and Marder around 30 percent. Dean had 19.2 percent and Longobardi had 19.45 percent.
