Marlboro, Colts Neck HS Cited for Great Test Scores in New Report

See what "grades" Marlboro and Colts Neck High Schools got in a report by Inside Jersey magazine.

As students and teachers prepare to head back to high school, a new report has been released that rates how area high schools are performing. 

Inside Jersey, a magazine produced by the Star Ledger, used a "proprietary formula" to chart trends in student achievement over the past four years. The magazine used the state's High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA), SAT scores and other data in its calculations to dole out letter grades. The full report can be seen here on NJ.com.

Here is how the report rated local schools:

Marlboro High School - 'A' grade for "above average scores, below average growth." The composite SAT score is 1680, and the report cites a 4.7 percent student achievement growth rate. 

Colts Neck High School - 'B' grade for "above average scores, above average growth." The report cites a 1627 SAT score and 5.3 percent growth rate in student achievement over the study period.
